Young man killed in accident near Bliss

The following is a press release from the Idaho State Police.

BLISS — Idaho State Police are investigating a fatal two-vehicle crash that occurred at 2:23 a.m. Monday on eastbound I84 at mile marker 132.4 near Bliss.

An 18-year-old man driving a red 1997 Chevrolet GMT-400 was traveling westbound on I84 when he crashed into a light pole. The pickup rolled through the median, came to rest in the eastbound lane and the driver was ejected.

A 32-year-old man driving a 2003 Peterbilt and a 2021 Wilson trailer was traveling eastbound on I84 when he collided with the driver of the Chevy.

The driver of the Chevrolet died from his injuries at the scene of the accident. He wasn't wearing a seatbelt.

This incident remains under investigation by the Idaho State Police. ISP was assisted by Gooding County Paramedics and Law Enforcement, Bliss QRU, Bliss Fire and the Gooding County Coroner.
