LOS ANGELES – Yankees third baseman Jazz Chisholm Jr. is once again making headlines for his unwavering confidence.

Chisholm was asked Saturday afternoon – a day after a crushing walk-off loss in Game 1 of the World Series – what allows the Yankees to bounce back from such a punch in the gut.

“I think we’ve done that all year,” Chisholm said. “I feel like nothing has changed between us in our clubhouse. We still feel like we have it in the bag. Not to be arrogant, but we are confident that we can win four games.”

After the Royals won Game 2 of the Division Series at Yankee Stadium earlier this month, Chisholm famously said that Kansas City “got lucky.” His logic was that the Yankees hit the ball hard but still missed opportunities. That's why they fell short.

“We still don’t feel like any team is better than us,” Chisholm added that day in the ALDS.

Of course, the Yankees won that series, but his comment became a storyline. It angered some players in the Royals' clubhouse, and Yankees manager Aaron Boone had to come back to it later, saying he disagreed but adding that the infielder could be “colorful” in his confidence at times.

That extended to his presser Saturday afternoon as the Yankees try to avoid an 0-2 hole in the World Series.

“I feel like we’re going to go out and play baseball,” Chisholm said. “We are enjoying the moment as much as they are. After that loss, I didn't feel like it was quiet in the clubhouse. We talked and said that was a fun baseball game, let’s play it again tomorrow, but let’s come out victorious.”
