WSU adds a home game against Toledo to its 2025 schedule, marking the ninth game announced

PULLMAN — Washington state's 2025 schedule now includes just three openings.

According to a press release Friday, the Cougars will face Toledo on Oct. 25, marking the ninth announced game on next season's schedule.

It is part of a home-and-home agreement that sends WSU to Toledo on September 20, 2031.

It will be the first meeting between WSU and Toledo, a member of the Mid-American Conference, and only the Cougs' third game against a MAC opponent. Their most recent loss was against Central Michigan in the 2021 Sun Bowl.

It is the second scheduled 2025 game this week for WSU, which announced a home game against Louisiana Tech on Wednesday.

WSU's competition against the reconfigured Pac-12 begins in 2026. The schedule agreement between the Pac-12 and Mountain West, which called for WSU and Oregon State games this season, will not continue next season. That forces the Cougars to fill their 2025 schedule with opponents from across the country.

With three spots to fill, WSU's 2025 schedule includes six home games. It looks like this:

Aug. 30 vs. Idaho

Sept. 6 vs. San Diego State

September 13 in North Texas

September 20 against Washington

September 27 in Virginia

Oct. 11 at Ole Miss

October 25 against Toledo

Nov. 15 vs. Louisiana Tech

TBA vs. Oregon State

It's unclear if WSU is planning a bye week between the Virginia or Ole Miss games on Saturday or if the Cougars are looking for a game this week.
