Women's basketball hits the road to face No. 25 Indiana and Quinnipiac

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard women's basketball continues the first week of college basketball with a pair of contests against No. 25 Indiana and Quinnipiac.

Beginning with a midweek Top 25 tournament, the Crimson will face the Hoosiers at Assembly Hall and Big 10+ on Thursday, November 7th at 7:00 p.m. Harvard then returns to the East Coast to face Quinnipiac on Sunday, November 10th at 2:00 p.m. at M&T Bank Arena and on ESPN+.

What you should know

  • The Crimson will open its 2024-25 season with 13 non-conference contests before beginning its annual 14-game Ivy League schedule in January.
  • Harvard will play six of its 13 non-conference games at Lavietes Pavilion, including its season opener against UMass-Amherst. The Crimson will also welcome Boston College (November 14), Northeastern (November 19), Rhode Island (December 7), Boston University (December 21) and Delaware (December 30) to Cambridge.
  • In their first game of the season, the Crimson defeated their in-state rival UMass 71-58 thanks to a strong defensive performance. Harvard recorded its most steals since the 2021-22 season with 19, forced a total of 34 Minutewomen turnovers and recorded eight blocks. 33 of the Crimson's 71 points came from UMass turnovers. The Crimson's turnover forced total of 34 ranked eighth nationally after the premiere, and its steals and blocks each ranked 11th overallTh in the country.
  • Gabby Anderson had a strong start to her junior season, leading the Crimson in the season opener. Anderson scored a career-best 20 points on 7-of-14 shooting from the field and 4-of-7 from distance. Additionally, the Columbus, Ohio native added six rebounds, four assists, three steals and two blocks without committing a foul.
  • Elena Rodríguez He also started on the right foot this season, amassing 18 points while shooting 80% (8-of-10 FG) from the field, eight rebounds, three assists and four steals – a team-best.
  • Prior to this season, the Crimson ranked third in the Ivy League preseason poll, receiving 101 points, including one first-place vote. Harvard trailed only Princeton (122) and Columbia (110).
  • Harvard only lost one active senior from the squad last year Lola Mullaneyand scored a league-best 80% of his points.
  • Additionally, the Crimson added five highly touted first-years Nina Emnace, Alayna Rocco, Hana Belibi, Lydia Chatiraand Asani Caesar.
  • One of his 10 returning players is Harmony Turner who is poised for another dominant season. As a junior, Turner led the Crimson in points, assists and steals, ultimately earning first-team All-Ivy honors for the second straight year. Prior to this season, Turner was named to the 2025 Becky Hammon Mid-Major Player of the Year preseason watch list.
  • His return also includes four of his top five scorers: Turner (19.3), Katie Krupa (11.3), Elena Rodríguez (10.3) and Abigail Wright (6.7) and his top three rebounds in Rodriguez (163), Turner (143) and Saniyah Glenn Bello (107).
  • Before the 2024-25 season, Krupa and Ella Stauffer were elected team captains by their teammates.
  • Carrie MooreThe 36 wins in her first two years at the helm are the most in program history of any coach's first two seasons.
  • The duel between Harvard and Indiana will be the first in history. Although the Crimson have never faced the Hoosiers, this is the sixth straight season they have faced a Big Ten opponent. Harvard will look to pick up its third win against the conference.
  • The all-time series with Quinnipiac is currently even, with each team having played four games. Harvard will look to take the series lead and extend its winning streak over the Bobcats to three.

Harvard will return home next week to face crosstown opponent Boston College on Thursday, November 14th. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. at Lavietes Pavilion and on ESPN+.
