Will Rams WR play Raiders today?

(This story has been updated to add new information.)

Cooper Kupp has been out since spraining his ankle in Week 2 against the Arizona Cardinals, causing him to miss the last three games for the Los Angeles Rams. He finally returned to practice on a limited basis this week, with the goal of returning for today's game against the Las Vegas Raiders.

The Rams understandably took it slow with their wideout, who was initially in a cast following the injury, and did what they could to prevent further injury to his ankle. The Week 6 bye only improved the situation and prevented him from missing additional time.

Here's the latest on Kupp's status for Week 7 against the Raiders.

Update on Cooper Kupp's injury

Kupp is expected to make a game-time decision on Sunday against the Raiders. Sean McVay emphasized the fact that he will truly be questionable and that the team will take their time to make a decision on his status.

“He will be questionable for the game. He had a good week. I know this is what you will ask about and this is what you will get from me. “He’s making good progress and there’s a chance he’ll be ready to go,” McVay said Friday.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reported early Sunday morning that Kupp likely won't play, but the Rams want to clear him before the game before making a decision.

Rams WR depth chart

  • WR1: Cooper Kupp
  • WR2: Demarcus Robinson
  • WR3: Jordan Whittington/Tutu Atwell
  • WR4: Tyler Johnson

Kupp will immediately be the best offensive option when he returns, especially with Puka Nacua still out. In just a game and a half, Kupp caught 18 passes for 147 yards and a touchdown.

Robinson, Whittington and Atwell should all remain involved in some capacity, but it's unclear which receiver will lose the most playing time with Kupp's return.
