    With less than a month to go before Election Day, Donald Trump has taken the unofficial lead over Kamala Harris in the latest betting odds in the race for the White House.

    While bookmakers in the United States cannot legally get in on the action on the 2024 presidential election, recent numbers from BetOnline show Trump leading -140 to Harris' +120 on October 14. Other betting sites such as the UK's Bet365 also had the former President leading Harris -138 to +110. That equates to a 58% chance of Trump being elected and a 47.6% chance of Harris being elected on October 8th

    As both candidates battle in swing states, experts have noted that the Harris campaign continues to lose ground on issues like the economy and border security.

    Polymarket, a crypto trading platform, predicts a Trump election victory on Tuesday, October 8, 53% to 47%. This is the first time the former president has taken the lead over Harris in this particular poll.

    When is election day?

    Election Day 2024 for President of the United States and a slew of congressional races across the country is Tuesday, November 5th.

    This is also the last day a ballot will be mailed.

    After the nationwide count, Electoral College voters will vote on Tuesday, December 17th, while Congress will count the electoral votes on Monday, January 6th. The President-elect's Inauguration Day is scheduled for Monday, January 20th.

    Other important dates for the 2024 presidential election:

    • Last day to request a ballot by mail (received, no postmark): Friday, October 25th
    • Early voting ends: Friday, November 1st
