Tyler Perry is back with another thrilling drama centering on two women whose contrasting lives collide on an explosive journey that uncovers the dark secrets of a wealthy family.

The 16-episode series premieres Thursday and is the latest project to emerge from Perry's creative, multi-year deal with Netflix. The show was written, produced and directed by Perry. Beauty in Black will be a two-part series and the first part is available to stream now.

“I've been told many times over many years that black entertainment doesn't travel around the world,” Perry told Netflix's Tudum. “So it’s been phenomenal that Netflix continues to disprove that with everything I’ve put on the platform.”

The supporting cast includes Amber Reign Smith as Rain, Steven G. Norfleet as Charles, Julian Horton as Roy, Terrell Carter as Varney, Shannon Wallace as Calvin, Bryan Tanaka as Officer Alex, Joy Rovaris as Gillian, Xavier Smalls as Angel and Charles Malik Whitfield as Jules, Tamera “Tee” Pillow as Bodysuit, Ursula O. Robinson as Delinda, Ashley Versher as Lena and George Middlebrook as Officer Trackson.

Taylor Polidore Williams as Kimmie

Taylor Polidore Williams stars in the series as Kimmie, a stripper whose bad luck leads her onto the trail of a wealthy but dysfunctional family that is hiding some dark, twisted secrets.

Williams' previous works include Divorce in Black, All American: Homecoming, Wicked City, Snowfall and more.

Crystal Stewart as Mallory

Crystle Stewart co-captains Beauty in Black as Mallory, a successful businesswoman who owns a hair care company. As she manages her empire, she juggles the dysfunction within her family. She is willing to do anything to protect her image, even kill.

Her previous works include “Acrimony,” “For Better or Worse,” “Too Close to Home,” “The Exes,” and more.

Ricco Ross as Horace

Ricco Ross plays Horace in the exciting drama, he is one of the regular customers at Kimmie's strip club who ultimately offers her another option in life.

Ross' acting resume includes “Phoenix,” “The Legend of Catclaws Mountain,” “As Chance Would Have It,” “The Last Job,” “Vax,” “General Hospital” and more.

Debbi Morgan as Olivia

Debbie Morgan plays Olivia, another of the series' main characters. She seems to be one of the few voices of reason amid the ongoing drama, but she may be harboring some twisted secrets of her own.

Morgan previously starred in Power Book II: Ghost, Our Kind of People, Fantasy Island and Bigger, as well as numerous Perry projects including Divorce in Black.

Richard Lawson as Norman

Longtime actor Richard Lawson plays Norman in the series. According to the trailer for the series, Norman and Olivia appear to be enemies with mutual friends.

His previous works include “All My Children,” “Sister, Sister,” “Angry Boys,” “In Contempt,” and more.
