The Houston Texans have lost five defensive starters for Sunday's game against the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field.

According to the team's injury report Friday, linebackers Azeez Al-Shair and Henry To'oTo'o, as well as cornerback Kamari Lassiter and safety Jimmie Ward were all officially out for Sunday's game against the Packers. The four were on the inactive list along with returning receiver Steven Sims and veteran receiver Robert Woods.

Al-Shair suffered a knee injury in the first half of the Week 6 win over the New England Patriots. Neville Hewitt, best known for his special teams skills, will start as the team's MIKE backup alongside Jake Hansen or fifth-round pick Jamal Hill.

To'oTo'o left the game late in the fourth quarter after making a tackle on a punt return. He entered the league's concussion protocol and did not practice all week. Hansen filled in for the final eight minutes of Sunday's game.

“Neville and Jake have been here with us for a while,” Texans coach DeMeco Ryans said. “They got a lot of reps. They know how we play, they know what to expect, they know how to communicate. It's nothing new for them. If they need to go out and take snaps, I’m confident those guys can step in and help us.”

Sims was added to the injury report late after suffering a back injury. In his place, Houston signed Desmond King from the practice squad to likely serve as a punt returner and add depth to Houston's secondary.

Receivers Tank Dell and Xavier Hutchinson could also be used heavily as returners on special teams.

Kickoff is scheduled for noon CT.
