It's that time again – time for Spotify to remind you how much Taylor Swift you actually listen to in a 12-month period!

Spotify Wrapped, the app's annual overview of each user's listening data for the year, has historically fallen around the end of December. (Last year it debuted on November 29th). The feature not only offers listeners a personalized look back at the music they streamed most in the last year, but also a look at global trends.

But one question continues to plague Spotify users: When exactly will the streaming service stop collecting data for its Wrapped campaign?

In 2021, a Spotify employee reportedly reported Newsweek The data collection ended on October 31st with the statement that the “hard ban is only for the sake of the election campaign”. However, Spotify refuted this claim in 2023 in response to a now-deleted post on X (formerly Twitter).

“Hmm, that doesn’t sound right to us. Don’t worry, Wrapped is still counting past October 31st 👀,” the post reads.

The exact end date remains a mystery, but given that Spotify Wrapped typically drops in early December, it's likely the deadline is around mid-November. That gives holiday music fans a little over a month to binge on as many repeats of “All I Want for Christmas Is You” without it becoming their top song every year.

Sharing Wrapped results on social media has become a tradition over the past nine years since Spotify first introduced the feature. As a result, the panic surrounding “Wrapped” has become a real thing, as listeners fear its results — and perhaps even try to game the system by listening to more tracks they think are cool toward the end of the year.

As for artists who will top the charts in 2024, Swift is a very likely prospect, while Sabrina Carpenter, Charli XCX and Chappell Roan all seem like safe bets. Some country artists could also appear on the list of most-streamed songs, thanks in no small part to hitmakers like Beyoncé, Shaboozey, Morgan Wallen, Post Malone and more.

Last year, Swift, 34, Bad Bunny, The Weeknd, Drake and Mexican star Peso Pluma topped the annual countdown.
