What's being said across the country after the Lions handed the Vikings their first loss?

The expected duel between the two best teams in the NFC North did not disappoint: The Detroit Lions defeated the Minnesota Vikings 31:29 in a thrilling back-and-forth victory.

Detroit moves into first place in the division with the win and secures the tiebreaker over the previously undefeated Vikings. However, the victory was not easy. The Lions fell into an early 10-0 hole on the road and things looked sloppy and lost right away. But they stormed back quickly, led by Jared Goff, Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jahmyr Gibbs.

The Lions went into halftime with an 11-point lead, then let the Vikings get back into the game and eventually fell behind after David Montgomery's fumble was returned for a touchdown with just over five minutes left. But Goff, Gibbs and St. Brown had one more swing up their sleeves, putting Jake Bates in position to put the game on ice. Bates made the game-winning field goal from 44 yards with less than 20 seconds left.
