After a long road trip that ended with a disappointing loss to Pitt, Syracuse returns to the Dome for homecoming against Virginia Tech. The Orange will need revenge after a tough 38-10 road loss to the Hokies in 2023. Virginia Tech has won three straight after defeating Georgia Tech 21-6 on Saturday.

The Orange are still 5-2 on the season, but Kyle McCord is coming off his worst loss of the year so far after throwing a season-best five interceptions against the 19th-ranked Panthers. Still, McCord threw for over 300 yards in his seventh straight game and climbed into the Orange's top 10 for all-time passer rating.

Pittsburgh employed the perfect formula to stop Syracuse's offense last week, leading some observers to question whether the secret lies in slowing the Orange. But Fran Brown doesn't believe it.

“We don’t want the same thing to happen,” Brown said, but assessed the loss as a blip. “I think our quarterback is really good. It was a free night. It was a pause for our entire football program.”
