A 30th anniversary usually includes a celebratory dinner or perhaps a watch… but the band Weezer isn't celebrating quite like everyone else. The legendary rock band returns to Fortnite to celebrate the band's 30th anniversary and their North American tour, Voyage to the Blue Planet.

In collaboration with Look North World, the band will release a new Unreal Editor for the open-world crime simulator Fortnite called “Sweat(er) City”. Fortnite Creative Mode supports 24 players as they plan and execute heists to make a life for themselves in this Weezer-themed metropolis. For those wondering what this has to do with Weezer… well, I don't know for sure, but there are elements in the game that definitely connect the island with the California-based band.

Sweat(er) City will feature a recreation of Arnold's Drive In (From Happy Days…and the Buddy Holly Music Video) and a photo wall featuring art from the Blue Album cover. If you're brave enough, you can even meet and compete against lead singer Rivers Cuomo, who will defend himself with his sweater yarn stun gun. Oh yes, there is also a guitar that plays Buddy Holly's iconic riff when used to eliminate a player!

Weezer isn't exactly unfamiliar with the Fortnite audience, as the band was among the first artists to adopt the title back in 2019 when the band invited their fans to visit Weezer World. In fact, Rivers Cuomo had this to say about their latest foray into the popular battle royale title. “Weezer and Fortnite go together like rock and roll and a diner. So stop by Arnold's Drive-In. But be careful, you might find yourself breathless.”
