“We need a president who works for all of us”

Harrison Ford has endorsed Kamala Harris and Tim Walz. In two clips, he explained why, after “64 years of voting,” he decided to “tell people I've never met before who I'm voting for and why” in this election.

He says it is the first time he has endorsed a president during this time. In one clip, he explains that while he doesn't agree with every single policy, he says: “These two people believe in the rule of law. They believe in science. They believe that when you govern, you do so for all Americans, and they believe that we are in this together. These are ideas that I believe in. These are people I can support.”

Meanwhile, he says of Trump: “He has spent four years turning us against each other while embracing dictators and tyrants around the world.” That's not who we are. We don't have to make America great again. Light up. We are great. All we need is to work together again. All we need is a president who will work for all of us again.”

In a second video, Ford addresses the fact that not even former members of the Trump administration are voting for him. “When dozens of former members of the Trump administration sound the alarm and say, 'For God's sake, don't do that again' – then you have to pay attention. They're telling us something important.” He points out that for many of them, this will be the first time they won't vote Republican, “because they know it really matters,” he says.

“Kamala Harris will protect your right to disagree with her on policies or ideas,” he continues. “And then, as we have done for centuries, we will debate it, work together and move forward.

“The other guy demands unconditional loyalty and says he wants revenge. I am Harrison Ford. I have a voice, just like everyone else, and I will use it to move forward. I will vote for Kamala Harris.”
