Horror 2 proved to be more than just a homage to some brutal and nasty films of the past, justifying its length by introducing a new lead character in Lauren LaVera's Sienna Shaw, a scary new presence called “The Pale Girl”, and solidifying the franchise into a supernatural one Secret. The film did not explain why Art was revived in the final moments of 2016 More terriblewho his scary young buddy is or why one of his original victims turns out to be just as evil as him. There was a good reason for that… because Leone is in it for the long haul with his groundbreaking franchise.

Terrifier 3 begins by explaining Art's demonic origins and sets up a sequel

Damien Leone has already made it clear that he has Art the Clown's story mapped out, and it shows how, aside from the gore, horror 3 ramps up the horror and revelations about a character in a way that captivates audiences in a way not seen in decades. Additionally, the film originally scored a 94% on RT's Tomatometer before falling to the expected 76%, while the audience rating remained high at 89%.

horror 3 continues to expand on the supernatural elements briefly seen in the final moments of More terrible and became a core element of Horror 2. In particular, a scene in which LaVera's Sienna explains to her brother why an evil being has decided to possess art, and his original surviving victim, Victoria, also explains the pale girl's presence in Horror 2.
