After a bright start to the season, the Beavers (4-3) have been plagued by injuries and inexperience this month, suffering back-to-back losses to Mountain West opponents in Nevada and UNLV. Trent Bray's squad will have a chance to stop the slide when it travels to Berkeley to face the Cal Golden Bears (3-4, 0-4 ACC) at California Memorial Stadium at 1 p.m.

Cal is also in the middle of a difficult phase. It has lost four straight games by a total of nine points.

“It’s pretty similar to our two-game deal,” Bray said earlier this week. “They lost some close games at the end. “So they played good teams and they played well, but at the end of the game they kind of fell short. So you are looking for the same thing as us. We have to eliminate self-inflicted mistakes that lead to not winning in close games and against good opponents.”
