Las Vegas Raiders owner Mark Davis was able to turn lemons into lemonade after Davante Adams was traded to the New York Jets on Tuesday.

Speaking to reporters during the NFL owners' meetings in Atlanta, Davis joked that the Raiders traded Adams for Tom Brady and a 2025 third-round draft pick.

The current Raiders Compensation for Adams was a conditional third-round pick. Brady came into play later in the day when he was approved by the other owners to become a limited partner as part of the Raiders' ownership group.

Even if the Raiders don't benefit from Brady playing quarterback for them, his name in the headlines the day they decided to move on from Adams makes it easier for fans to accept that they don't have a star player.

Of course, the key to Brady's involvement with the Raiders is finding a way to make the franchise consistently successful.

Since Mark took over as head of the Raiders following the death of his father Al in 2011, they have only had two winning seasons and two playoff appearances. They haven't won a playoff game since reaching the Super Bowl in the 2002 season.

For comparison, Brady had 32 playoff wins and six Super Bowl titles from 2003 to 2022. His only losing season as a starting quarterback in the NFL was in his senior year when the Tampa Bay Buccaneers finished 8-9.
