Vice President Kamala Harris will sit down with chief political anchor Bret Baier for the first formal interview with Fox News

Democratic presidential candidate Vice President Kamala Harris will sit down for an interview with Fox News Channel political anchor Bret Baier on Wednesday in Pennsylvania.

It will be Harris' first formal interview ever on Fox News. It will air on the Oct. 16 edition of Baier's “Special Report” at 6 p.m. ET. This evening, Baier will host “Special Report” from the embattled state of Pennsylvania.

Harris' running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, appeared on “Fox News Sunday” for the second straight day on Sunday, as the Democratic ticket has increased media appearances in recent weeks.

Vice President Kamala Harris will be interviewed by Fox News Channel's Bret Baier on Wednesday.

“Special Report” is consistently one of the most-watched shows on cable news, and the popular Common Ground segment, in which political leaders from across the aisle discuss the issues of the day with the goal of finding a middle ground, has been a success this election cycle.

Harris' first interview with Fox News comes as she is ramping up her media appearances, albeit mostly on friendly outlets. While she took part in an interview with “60 Minutes” that was criticized after the network aired two different answers to the same question about Israel, she followed up last week with a friendly interview with ABC's “The View,” Stephen Colbert and Howard Star.

Baier co-led Fox News Channel's special Democracy 2024 coverage of the Democratic National Convention and Republican National Convention, as well as several political events, which consistently ranked No. 1 on all television and outperformed cable news and broadcast coverage.

Baier also moderated Republican presidential debates and town halls with candidates from across the political spectrum, including former President Trump, Harris' opponent in the 2024 election.
