UK Wildcats News: On to Florida after embarrassing loss to Vanderbilt

Good morning on this dreary Sunday.

With an embarrassing 20-13 home loss to Vanderbilt, Kentucky once again delivered one of the worst performances of the Mark Stoops era, posting just a 2-10 SEC home record in Kentucky's final 12 conference games. This is also the second game this season in which the “worst performance of the Mark Stoops era” was cited.

After raising the bar for the Kentucky Wildcats football program for nine straight years from 2013 to 2021, the program has been in rapid decline since the fifth week of the 2022 season, and now it looks like it's headed for one which … could be in complete free fall – the biggest successes in the program's history.

Not only does Kentucky lose these games; it will be embarrassing for them. They are embarrassed by their opponents and embarrass themselves with ridiculous penalties – far too often coaching mistakes end halftimes and even games. It's somewhat similar to a 2012 Joker Phillips-style football team.

Kentucky is running out of time to salvage its season.
