Uber Driver Attacked in Queens, Video Shows – NBC New York

Authorities were searching for a woman who forced her way into an Uber vehicle while the driver was picking up a passenger. She then punched the driver and pushed him out of his car before driving the car away herself, police said.

The 52-year-old driver was picking someone up on 86th Avenue in Queens around 11:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 10, when the woman reached for the open door. The video shows her holding on and throwing herself into the vehicle.

Police say she punched the driver several times in the face and body and bit him on the back before throwing him out. She sped west on 86th Avenue in Bellrose and then crashed into several parked cars and a tree just half a block from the original crime scene, police said.

The woman left the vehicle and fled in an unknown direction. Police released surveillance video of the suspect.

The victim was taken to a hospital in stable condition. He later told News 4 that he was physically fine but remained emotionally affected by the attack and was unable to work because the car sustained significant damage. He says he doesn't know the woman and doesn't know why she attacked him.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
