Tyrese Maxey scored 45 points, including 10 in overtime, and the Philadelphia 76ers completed a late rally to earn their first win of the season with a 118-114 win over the Indiana Pacers on Sunday in Indianapolis.

Maxey's success in overtime began with a long-range 3-pointer for the first points of overtime. His charge to the rim with 21 seconds left resulted in a goalie violation and extended the Sixers' lead to an invaluable three-point lead.

Maxey was whistled for a foul on Andrew Nembhard's shot on the edge of the ensuing Indiana possession. But Nembhard only made one of two free throws, and Philadelphia held its own from there. Maxey added four rebounds and four assists on his day.

While Maxey shined in the final period, it was a total team effort for Philadelphia to get to overtime. The Sixers fell behind 102-97 with 93 seconds left in the fourth quarter after Nembhard jumped.

However, Kelly Oubre Jr.'s response on the other side sparked an 8-0 run by the Sixers, with Eric Gordon blocking a shot and Andre Drummond getting two steals.

Indiana was only able to avert total disaster toward the end of regulation time when Tyrese Haliburton sank one of his four made three-pointers just before the buzzer, forcing overtime. Haliburton scored a team-high 22 points but unusually committed more turnovers (three) than he had assists (two).

Caleb Martin scored 17 points and grabbed 12 rebounds for Philadelphia. Drummond added 17 rebounds, nine points and two steals. Gordon scored 15 points and Oubre 14.

Pascal Siakam scored 17 points for Indiana. Obi Toppin added 15 points off the bench. Myles Turner had 14 and Aaron Nesmith, TJ McConnell and Nembhard had 10 each.

Both teams struggled with some sloppy offensive play and there were 20 turnovers per player. However, the mistakes that ultimately cost Indiana came at the free throw line, when Haliburton missed two foul shots with five seconds left in overtime that would have tied the game.

Indiana scored 23 of 34 points as a team at the charity event. Philadelphia was 23 of 31. The Sixers outscored the Pacers in rebounding 54-37, which led to 14 more field goal attempts.
