Former President Trump highlighted the size of late golf legend Arnold Palmer's genitals during a rally Saturday night in Pennsylvania, a critical battleground state that will decide which party wins the White House in just over two weeks.

The rally was held in Latrobe, Pennsylvania, the birthplace of Palmer, who was widely considered one of the greatest golfers of all time and died in 2016 at the age of 87. However, it is common for political candidates to mention hometown heroes by name. During their travels, Trump's focus on Palmer's genitals was peculiar.

“Arnold Palmer was a man. And I say that with all due respect to women, and I love women. But this guy, this guy, this is a guy who was all man,” Trump told cheering supporters at a rally at a regional airport named after Palmer. “This man was strong and tough. And I refused to say it, but when he was showering with the other pros, they came out and said, “Oh my God, this is incredible.” ”

The campaign of Trump's rival, Vice President Kamala Harris, mocked the former president's comment.

“Trump's closing argument for Pennsylvania is literal trash,” Harris' campaign said in a statement. “In a rally speech in Pennsylvania that his campaign described as 'the beginning of his closing argument on the final stretch,' Donald Trump focused on the issue that matters most to voters in this election: the … anatomy of a deceased golfer.”

During Saturday's rally, the former president also described Harris as “as – vice president” and urged his supporters to vote in a state that has the most electoral votes of any battleground state in the country.

Rubio noted that Trump was taller than him: “I don't understand why his hands are the size of someone who's 5-2,” Rubio said during a rally. “And you know what they say about men with small hands? You can’t trust them.”

Trump responded to a debate in March 2016 by raising his hands and extending his fingers for viewers to see.

“Look at these hands, are they little hands?” he said. “And he referred to my hands: 'If they're small, something else must be small.' I guarantee you there will be no problem. I guarantee it.”

Meanwhile, Harris campaigned Saturday in Detroit and Atlanta, major cities in two other key states for the November election.

At an evening rally in Georgia, the vice president spoke about Trump's role in repealing federal abortion rights and the death of Amber Nicole Thurman. According to ProPublica, the 28-year-old single mother died of a rare post-abortion complication after a delayed routine surgical procedure at a suburban Atlanta hospital.

The delayed treatment came in the wake of a new state law that made performing the procedure to remove fetal tissue from the uterus a criminal offence, with a few exceptions. Reproductive rights advocates said a law could deter doctors from performing the surgery for fear of prosecution.

“Donald Trump still refuses to take responsibility for the pain and suffering he caused or even acknowledge the pain and suffering that actually happened. “He even mocked Thurman's family for telling their story at a Fox News town hall last week,” Harris said at the rally, before showing footage of Trump discussing a press conference that included Thurman's family and Democratic politicians held before the former president spoke in the city. The hall focused on female voters last week.

Harris described Trump's reaction as a reflection of the Republican's core values.
