Trump audience leaves the house early because the audience has to listen to music for 39 minutes

Some attendees at a Donald Trump town hall event reportedly began leaving early on Monday after the Republican presidential candidate decided to stop taking questions from the audience and instead played music for 39 minutes.

The former president attended the town hall in Oaks, Pennsylvania, moderated by South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem. The proceedings were paused while two participants received medical care, after which Trump jokingly asked if “anyone else wants to faint?” Then he said, “Let's ask no more questions.” Let's just listen to music. Let's make music out of it. Who the hell wants to hear questions, right?”

The incident came after Kamala Harris questioned Trump's mental intelligence and called her White House rival “unstable” and “crazy” at a rally in Pennsylvania on Monday. In July, President Joe Biden announced he was withdrawing from the 2024 presidential campaign due to concerns about his age and mental abilities.

Accordingly The Washington Post, “Some in the crowd began to leave” after Trump said he would no longer answer questions at the town hall and instead told his team to play nine songs in a row while he danced intermittently on stage.

Songs performed included “An American Trilogy” by Elvis Presley, “Nothing Compares 2 U” by Sinéad O’Connor, the iconic “YMCA” by Village People and “Memory” from the Andrew Lloyd Webber musical Cats.

Newsweek contacted Trump's campaign via email outside of regular office hours on Tuesday seeking comment.

Trump campaign spokesman Steven Cheung posted on

“Nobody wanted to go and hear more songs from the famous DJT Spotify playlist!”

However, other commentators were more critical of Trump standing around on stage.

Ron Filipkowski, editor of self-proclaimed “pro-democracy” media outlet MeidasTouch, added: “This is absolutely crazy. Trump froze while answering questions, said he would not answer any more questions, and then stood on stage for the next 30 minutes while music played. Will the media treat this as anything other than a truly bizarre cognitive episode???”

Harris called on Trump, who would be the oldest inaugurated president in U.S. history if elected in November, to release his medical records during a rally on Sunday.

She said: “He refuses to hand over his medical records. I did it. Every other presidential candidate in modern times has done it.”

This came after Harris released a two-page medical summary concluding that she would be able to “successfully discharge her duties as president” if elected next month.

Some Trump supporters were reportedly stranded in California's Coachella Valley after a rally for the Republican candidate on Saturday because there were not enough buses available to take them back to their cars.

But in better news for Trump, a recent Fox News national poll found that the former president could receive more than three times the share of the vote among Black voters that he received in the 2020 election.
