While the Dallas Cowboys didn't embarrass themselves on the field in Week 7, it still wasn't a standout week for the American team.

It started with Jerry Jones' tantrum on 105.3 The Fan in Dallas and culminated in Amari Cooper being traded to Buffalo for more (a lot more) than the Cowboys got for him three years ago.

To make matters worse, both the Commanders and Eagles won in overwhelming fashion, pushing Dallas further down the NFC East standings. However, it took until Monday night for Cowboys fans to experience the most humiliating moment of the week.

It's obvious by now that the front office screwed up by not signing Derrick Henry in the offseason. Henry is in the midst of another incredible season and ran roughshod over the Buccaneers in the Ravens' 41-31 victory Monday Night Football.

Henry's great play prompted Cowboys legend and ESPN color analyst Troy Aikman to take an indirect shot at his former team.

Ouch.

This was the second time in a matter of days that Aikman openly mocked the Cowboys. Appearing on 96.7 The Ticket in Dallas last week, the Hall of Fame quarterback dissected Dallas' wide receivers and questioned their route running and overall performance.

The Derrick Henry Cowboys narrative may be exaggerated, but it is still extremely relevant. The Cowboys have the NFL's worst rushing attack and Henry leads the league with 872 rushing yards, 202 more than the next running back. He is on track to secure his third rushing title.

Henry's dominance doesn't end there. He ranks first in rushing first downs, yards per carry and yards after contact, as well as top five in forced missed tackles and explosive runs. He is 30 years old and has a pace of 2,100 rushing yards.

Make no mistake: Henry wouldn't put up the same numbers with Dallas. Playing with Lamar Jackson is a cheat code for RBs and Mike McCarthy's scheme doesn't mesh well with King Henry, but the Cowboys would at least have a top-10 rushing attack if Henry was lined up behind Dak Prescott.

That Aikman is using his platform to mock the Cowboys suggests that he is disgusted with what the team has become – both in terms of their performance on the field and their laxity up front Office.

If one of the franchise's most iconic players openly tearing the team apart doesn't send a message to the owners, then nothing will happen.
