Travis Kelce loses his mind over the Guardians' ALCS win over the Yankees

Cleveland was rocking after a dramatic ALCS Game 3 victory over the Yankees on Thursday, and one of the area's native sons couldn't have been happier with the win.

Chiefs star tight end Travis Kelce clearly had his eye on the game and reacted on social media as the game reached its exciting conclusion following David Fry's walk-off home run in the 10th inning.

“Playoff baseball baby!!! @CleGuardians are absolutely rocking the city tonight!! What a game!” He posted on X along with three fire emojis.

Kelce, a Cleveland Heights native, attended the first game of the series at Yankee Stadium with his girlfriend, pop icon Taylor Swift.

In a response post on Thursday night, he appealed to fans who criticized him for not wearing Guardians merchandise for the game.

“I have been a Cleveland Sports fan my entire life…I have attended countless Guards and Cavs games over the years just to enjoy these memories with my friends and family, WIN OR LOSE!! …and I don't. I wear Cleveland clothes once and suddenly I'm not a real fan anymore?!” he wrote. “Ask anyone who was in or near this suite for Game 1 who I was cheering for, they will tell you I was there @CleGuardians.”

The Chiefs tight end discussed the experience on his podcast “New Heights.” and said he had “mixed feelings” about attending the game.

“It was mixed emotions because I was there trying to have fun with Tay and everyone. All our friends… came. We had an incredible crew with us and participated. It was fun,” Kelce said.

He admitted that he was disappointed that the Guardians were unable to achieve a victory.

Cleveland lost the first game of the series 5-2.

“Even though the guards couldn’t make it, it was still an exciting game,” Kelce said. “It was cool to see Yankee Stadium because I've always wanted to see that thing in person, in a playoff game, in a hostile environment, and it didn't disappoint, man.”

Game 3 featured plenty of drama in the final innings of the game, with the Yankees and Guardians alternating home runs before Fry hit the game-winning home run in the bottom of the 10th.

The Yankees still hold a 2-1 lead over the Guardians with Game 4 scheduled for Friday night at Progressive Field.
