Shenker Osorio: It's a mass forgetting in which people understandably feel like they're having a hard time, that they're having a hard time, and that they're responding honestly to a lot of what's uncomfortable in the current moment and seeing it as the Democrats' fault , because they have a pretty unclear point of view. We see this often. We're in focus groups, two to four focus groups a week, every single week, and have been since 2020, with some breaks for holidays, etc. – what we keep seeing is a lot, Well, I don't know, but it seems like the Democrats are in charge. So when there is chaos, when there is conflict, when there is confusion, when America is “on the wrong track,” then the general gist is that this must come from those in charge, without much knowledge or information about what is happening below . What I see in this abomination at Madison Square Garden is what happens when youYou drink so much of the toxic poison of your own misogyny, racism, and xenophobia that you really forget, for example, that Puerto Ricans live all over these United States and are voters in battleground states. They assume that because they're locked up on an island, you can say terrible things about them. News flash, there are boats and planes and people live everywhere.

The same goes for misogyny. You think you can just move on and don't realize that you live in an environment where women vote more than men. So you can't bear to lose that population so much because, as it turns out, there are more of us.

Sargent: One hundred percent. This brings up something Trump said about Fox News. He raged on social media that Fox News spends too much time promoting Democrats, which is funny. Even more revealing was the claim that Fox News was showing too much of Michelle Obama's speech, in which she pretty effectively picked him apart. Trump was sparked in part by the backlash to his hate rally when he said all that about Michelle Obama because heThis speech was directly aimed at public behavior like what we saw at this rally, the MAGA hate, and so on. More importantly, Trump knows she has the ability to bring back some of those nonwhite voters, particularly Hispanics, low-propensity voters and perhaps young men. What are the prospects of winning back this population? We don't really know how big it is. The polls are somewhat mixed. It's hard to say how reliable they are, but it is a significant dynamic. Is there really a way to get her back here?
