Tom Brady loved watching the 49ers make smart play to score a touchdown against the Chiefs

It was only fitting that Tom Brady was at this year's Super Bowl rematch between the San Francisco 49ers and Kansas City Chiefs.

Heading into Sunday's highly anticipated game, the 49ers' offense suffered a setback when Deebo Samuel exited due to illness and Brandon Aiyuk suffered a scary setback in the first half. What does quarterback Brock Purdy do in the end zone after taking down two of his top targets?

He takes it himself.

In the third quarter, Kyle Shanahan called up the perfect quarterback sneak play that allowed Purdy to easily score a touchdown while outsmarting the Chiefs defense.

Brady couldn't contain his excitement as he watched the play.

“It was one of the rarer ones I’ve ever seen,” Brady said. “They pulled both guards – but really a creative play call – look at both guards pulling and it leaves Purdy one-on-one. That's one way to do it. I don’t see a lot of deception, that was two fraudulent quarterback sneaks, that was pretty sick.”

Purdy's score helped cut the Chiefs' lead to 14-12 in the third quarter. Purdy, who scored San Francisco's only touchdown of the game so far, has currently completed 9 of 20 passes for 122 yards and recorded two interceptions.

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes didn't fare much better with 116 yards through the air and no touchdowns against two interceptions.
