Titans lose Lloyd Cushenberry Quandre Diggs in win over Patriots

The Tennessee Titans got a much-needed, but expensive win against the New England Patriots yesterday. Center Lloyd Cushenberry, who the Titans gave to a four-year, $50 million contract before the season, suffered a torn Achilles tendon yesterday, according to Paul Kuharsky. He will be out this year.

Corey Levin replaced Cushenberry yesterday. It will most likely be Daniel Brunskill replacing Cushenberry on offense, but he filled in for Dillon Radunz at right guard yesterday. The bigger question going forward is how long the rehab process will take for Cushenberry. Hopefully he can participate in the same program that Aaron Rodgers did after his Achilles tendon injury last year.

The Titans also lost safety Quandre Diggs to a foot injury that is expected to be season-ending.* It will most likely be Mike Brown who replaces Diggs. There was so much hope for this secondary this summer when we thought Chidobe Awuzie, Li'Jarius Sneed and Rodger McCreary would be at corner and Quandre Diggs and Ahmani Hooker would be at safety. It looks like this group will play a total of three games this season.

It was important for Brian Callahan and his team to win yesterday. I hope they like it, because there probably aren't many left in the program for this season.

*(UPDATE) – NFL Network confirmed it was a Lisfranc injury. His season is over.
