Tinashe and Urban Outfitters announce a dance-inspired collection

Tinashe and Urban Outfitters have teamed up for a fresh collection for the next generation. The “All Hands on Deck” singer and clothing company's new clothing collection will officially launch in 2025.

The upcoming collection is part of Tinashe's ongoing partnership with Urban Outfitters and was created in collaboration with her in-house design team, drawing inspiration from the world of dance – a community close to Tinashe.

“Growing up in a dance studio teaches you a lot about the intersection between movement and fashion. “I have always been inspired by the way dancers create their own outfits, whether in ballet class, where they combine shorts and leg warmers, or in hip-hop class, where personal style is paramount,” Tinashe said in an explanation.

“I always wanted to bring the creative and free energy of a dancer into the clothing. “I’m excited to finally bring this idea to life by designing specific items that you can move in and feel more creative than sports bras and leggings,” she said.

“Our brand is a platform for artists like Tinashe to expand their creative vision into new areas and connect with their fans in new ways,” said Dmitri Siegel, Chief Brand, Creative and Digital Officer at Urban Outfitters. “We are thrilled to partner with Tinashe to create products and experiences that capture her unique blend of music, dance, TikTok culture, fashion and self-expression.”

The collaboration marks a new chapter for the clothing company, with the singer serving as a conduit for the brand's past and future. “Tinashe brings an unmatched energy and perspective that is a perfect fit for Urban Outfitters,” said Shea Jensen, President of Urban Outfitters. “Our mission at Urban Outfitters is to advance the next generation of individuality, and this partnership with Tinashe will further strengthen that momentum.”

Urban Outfitters gained momentum in 2024 with new clothing lines and a gender-specific fashion expansion. The clothing company partnered with Wildfang, a gender-fluid brand based in Portland, Oregon, in February with five exclusive styles. Last April, Urban Outfitters teamed up with Cat Apparel and Reclaimed Inc. for a workwear line.
