Los Angeles Dodgers third baseman Enrique “Kike” Hernandez knows a thing or two about teamwork in baseball.

Since being drafted by the Houston Astros in 2009, the current Dodger now has two World Series under his belt – including a win in 2020.

But Hernandez also knows about teamwork off the field: The professional athlete was also married to an actress, a model and a beauty pageant winner Mariana Vicente since 2018.

Vicente, 35, was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico in 1989. In 2010 she won Miss Universe Puerto Rico. She also placed 10th in the world at the Miss Universe pageant. Her acting career included credits such as Scream Queens, Ozark, And American horror story.

The couple have supported each other in their respective careers over the course of their nearly decade-long relationship. Us Weekly takes a look at the star couple's biggest moments.

2015

In a profile of Within weddingsThe couple explained that their relationship began the same way many modern ones do: online. After I saw the movie Whirlpool time machine 2in which Mariana plays a role, Hernandez found her and made contact.

“He found me on social media and sent me a message congratulating me on my achievement,” she recalls.

She responded and two months later they finally met. The MLB star said he knew they would get married one day. “She was just as beautiful in person as she was in her modeling photos.”

Six months later, they began a romantic relationship.

2017

In July 2017, Hernandez proposed to Vicente while on vacation in Big Sur, California. She said that while she was filming her hotel room on Snapchat, she turned around and saw him proposing. “I turned around and he was on one knee,” Vicente said Within weddings. “Also, I found everything in that Snapchat video… which I accidentally deleted.”

2018

In December of the next year, the couple married in Puerto Rico. “It would have been nice if I had learned at this rehearsal how much crying there would be!!!” Hernandez captioned on Instagram alongside a selection of wedding photos.

2020

Hernandez and Vicente would soon be a family of three! In June 2020, the couple announced that they were expecting their first child. “IT WORKS!!!!!!!! Bebé Hernández Vicente is coming soon!! #GirlDad,” Hernandez posted on X, formerly Twitter.

2021

Their daughter Penelope Isabel was born on January 15, 2021. Hernandez celebrated the occasion with an emotional Instagram post.

“The day I got drafted I thought I was on top of the world, the day I made my big league debut I thought nothing would compare, the day I did “When I got married, it felt like the world stopped the day we won the World Series I thought I had everything,” Hernandez wrote on Instagram in a caption alongside photos of the newborn. “NOTHING compares to the moment I met my little girl!! @marianavicente you are my hero!!! Las amo y las amare siempre!!!!

2021 also brought big changes for the pair as Hernandez was drafted to the Boston Red Sox, where they remained until the 2022 season.

2023

The star couple returned to Los Angeles – where Hernandez played from 2015 to 2020 – in 2023 when Hernandez moved back to the Dodgers. The couple celebrated their five-year marriage anniversary in December this year. “Married to my best friend for 5 years,” Vicente wrote in an Instagram post. “And that’s how long it took for him to grow out his facial hair,” she joked.

2024

The couple officially welcomed a three-year-old in January 2024 and celebrated Penelope's birthday on the 15th. While Hernandez was preparing for the World Series, Vicente also continued her work in the fashion industry. In October, she launched a brand new fashion collaboration line with the brand Ecliptica. In an Instagram post, Vicente wrote that they were among the first designers she collaborated with in her career.

“They have shown up again and again in all of the biggest moments of my life. “Throughout my modeling career, the days of the Miss Universe Puerto Rico pageant, the movie premiere red carpets and the wedding day,” she wrote. “Their designs, care, work ethic and quality are TOP and I hope you all enjoy these pieces created with so much love.”
