Real Madrid are struggling to cope with the consequences of their devastating 4-0 home defeat against Barcelona on Saturday. Carlo Ancelotti may not be under pressure over the result, but he and his players are in the crosshairs of many.

According to Sport, Real Madrid TV was one of those who took on the reigning La Liga champions and they gave a scathing review of the performance at the Santiago Bernabeu.

“Real Madrid should be happy with what happened in the first half, but they are right to be angry about their team's performance,” The Analysis began. “Two very different parts. Nothing can be complained about. Lewandowski scored the two goals Barcelona had and from then on it was a lottery. The difference was in the finish.

“Besides, Real Madrid didn’t have the coldness to give in back then. They were better in the first, Barcelona in the second. They could have won 3-0 in the first game, but they didn't make the game decisive. They had very clear chances and didn't score any goals, and Barcelona scored almost all of them. The victory was uncontestable. It's a penalty for Real Madrid. The stick is very large. It's a very tough defeat. The second half is terrible, we played what Barcelona wanted. There was no aggressiveness or attitude.”

RMTV also addressed the poor performances of Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Junior, both of whom drew criticism in the Real Madrid squad – in particular, their inability to stay on the offside was questioned.
