Is it really Halloween season without a festive feel to this beloved witch classic? Hocus pocus? Ahead of the spooky holiday, The Wonderful World of Disney will host a special airing of the 1993 fantasy comedy tonight, October 20th, at 8pm Eastern on ABC.

Hocus pocus The focus is on a villainous trio of witches, the Sanderson Sisters – iconically played by Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy – who are resurrected on Halloween night in Salem, Massachusetts by a teenager named Max (Omri Katz). Along with his classmate Allison (Vinessa Shaw), his younger sister Dani (Thora Birch), and a talking black cat named Binx (voiced by Jason Marsden), the teenager must figure out how to defeat the evil circle before the witches become immortal.

Although it was originally released in theaters in July 1993, strangely enough, Hocus pocus has become a perennial favorite of the fall season thanks to annual broadcasts like tonight's presentation of “The Wonderful World of Disney,” and has achieved cult status thanks to the hilarious, high-spirited performances of Midler, Parker and Najimy.

Hocus pocus continues The Wonderful World of Disney's fall programming with beloved hits and fan-favorite films airing Sundays throughout the season on ABC. If you can't get enough of The Sandersons, the sequel film Hocus Pocus 2 will make its television debut on ABC next weekend, Sunday, October 27th at 8pm Eastern Time. Other family-friendly Disney films on ABC's schedule include: Coco on November 3rd Ms. Doubtfire on November 10th Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny on November 17th and Moana on November 24th
