Fortnitemares 2024 is finally around the corner. A new event brings with it a wealth of spooky cosmetic items and rewarding challenges. Packed with content, Halloween in Fortnite will be particularly unique this year.

In collaboration with popular horror films like Saw, there are no limits to the horror you can experience, including a new collection of scary skins and weapons. In this guide you'll find everything you need to know about the Halloween event and how to earn all the free rewards available during Fortnitemares.

Fortnitemares is a Halloween event that brings the spooky season to battle royale. Fearsome new skins, exclusive game modes, and island updates are just a few of the things you'll experience at Fortnite's 2024 Halloween celebration.

Fortnitemares runs from October 12th to November 2ndSo you have about three weeks to celebrate the Halloween season in your favorite battle royale.

Fortnitemares 2024 introduces a collection of new and returning spooky cosmetics that will send shivers down your spine. There are also special game modes and additional challenges to complete, keeping you busy throughout October.

The limited-time Horde Rush mode returns

Horde Rush is a limited-time mode returning during Fortnitemares 2024. In this adventure, as the name suggests, you will have to defeat groups of NPC enemies across the island. After eliminating the boss in a game, you win the game mode. Horde Rush mode is incredibly popular, so its return has been anticipated for months.

Spooky map expansions

As with other events, the Fortnitemares update added new map expansions spread across the island. Fortnite's Halloween update introduced new landmarks such as Brawler's Patch to the island. Old locations have also received spooky decorations and other upgrades, so returning content is also fresh throughout Fortnitemares.

New Halloween gear

Some spooky items have been added to the Battle Royale mode to improve the meta, particularly items themed after the October holidays. Boom Billy is an explosive puppet who rides a tricycle towards his enemy before exploding in a brilliant glow.

Even more exciting, a chainsaw has been added to Fortnite's Battle Royale mode, meaning you can now drive a powerful weapon straight at your enemy and then slice through them at record speeds. Both items are available in chests and as ground loot, but only for a limited time.

Some vaulted items also return, including the Witch's Broom, Wooden Stake Shotgun, and Pumpkin Launcher.

Creepy cosmetics

Dozens of Halloween skins, pickaxes, and other cosmetic items are temporarily returning to the shop during Fortnitemares, such as the Skull Trooper Jonesy costume.

Various new cosmetics will also be introduced in October 2024, so you can add a few new items to your locker. According to a loading screen, the “Leatherface” and “Jigsaw” skins are also coming to Fortnite in the new update new The Nightmare Before Christmas cosmetics identified by leaker @SamLeakss.

Free challenges and rewards

Fortnitemares brings you an exciting selection of rewards to earn by completing challenges in 2024. Rewards include the Horde Warwheel Back Bling for completing three quests, the Fel Wand for completing eight quests, and the Great Scarecrow Glider for completing all challenges offered in Fortnitemares. There are currently a total of 11 challenges to be mastered.

The Horde Rush mode will also offer challenges at this year's Fortnitemares, but the reward will always be XP. These quests will unlock over time in Fortnitemares 2024.

Brick Or Treat LEGO Pass

The Brick or Treat LEGO Pass includes a range of new quests and rewards to earn in celebration of the Halloween season. You can complete quests to earn Studs, which will allow you to unlock shiny new items in the Brick Or Treat Pass.

Split-screen multiplayer mode is now also available in LEGO Fortnite, allowing you to try out a number of new additions to the block-themed mode.

There are a number of third-party collaborations that will be popping up during Fortnitemares in 2024. Some feature characters from franchises new to Fortnite while others return, but regardless, you can expect a wide range of cosmetics from popular horror media such as The Nightmare Before Christmas.

Although most of the collaborations are purely cosmetic, Saw offers a new in-game challenge centered around the trappings of the horror franchise. Look out for Billy the Puppet. When you see him on a monitor, you can move closer to take on the challenge of defeating another player. However, you'll have to act quickly as you'll be forced to wear a headgear that will explode if you don't defeat your target in the allotted time.

Symbiote Cup

The Symbiote Cup is a new Fortnite competition taking place on October 22nd. The Symbiote Cup is a battle royale duos tournament and offers the opportunity to compete for early access to the Agony and She-Venom skins. You'll need to be among the top teams in your region to receive a reward, but it's still worth checking out if you're a Venom fan or like competitive Fortnite.
