Update Information

The third phase of the I-30 Arkansas River Bridge is scheduled to begin Friday, November 1st

The Arkansas Department of Transportation has announced that the final phase of construction on the Interstate 30 Arkansas River Bridge, connecting Downtown Little Rock and North Little Rock, will begin on Friday, November 1st and continue through the weekend until November 4th.

Due to construction, all eastbound lanes will be closed with detours from 10pm Friday November 1st until 5am Monday November 4th. Westbound I-30 is not expected to be affected.

ARDOT has the following detours planned for the weekend:

  • Traffic on I-30 eastbound and I-630 eastbound to I-30 eastbound will be detoured to the north frontage road in Little Rock (Exit 140).
  • Traffic will continue on the northbound frontage road and return to the eastbound I-30 River Bridge via the 4th Street ramp. I-30 eastbound is reduced to one lane as it crosses the river bridge
  • If you are crossing the river, take the Broadway Street exit (Exit 141) in North Little Rock. The traffic signal on Broadway Street will be changed to allow free flow of traffic to and from eastbound I-30; Traffic on Broadway Street will be detoured to Riverfront Drive and N. Locust Street in North Little Rock
  • Traffic will continue on N. Locust Street and return to eastbound I-30 via the Bishop Lindsey Avenue ramp

See the map below for details:

Immediately after the completion of the third phase, there will be new traffic patterns that will look like this:

  • There will be a total of six lanes on the eastbound I-30 River Bridge
  • Traffic must elect to exit onto Broadway Street BEFORE crossing the river bridge. To get to Broadway Street, traffic will travel in the right lane. To continue eastbound on I-30, traffic will travel through the three left lanes
