A freeze watch has been issued for Arlington and much of the D.C. area.

The watch is in effect from late Sunday through Monday. The first frost of the season could damage unprotected plumbing and exposed water pipes.

…FREEZE WATCH IN EFFECT FROM LATE SUNDAY EVENING UNTIL MONDAY MORNING…

* WHAT… Temperatures below freezing as low as possible.

* WHERE…In DC, District of Columbia. In Maryland, Southern Baltimore County. In Virginia, Arlington/Falls Church/Alexandria.

* WHEN…From late Sunday evening to Monday morning.

* IMPACT…Frost and freeze can destroy crops and other sensitive plants and potentially damage unprotected outdoor plumbing.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS MEASURES…

Take action now to protect sensitive plants from the cold.

To prevent water pipes from freezing; Wrap or drain or drain slowly.
