The Rams reportedly want to trade WR Cooper Kupp for a second-round pick

Cooper Kupp's time with the Los Angeles Rams could be coming to an end. According to The Athletic, the Rams are reportedly talking to multiple teams about a possible trade for the Pro Bowl wide receiver and former Super Bowl MVP.

According to The Athletic, Los Angeles has called several teams about a possible trade and wants a second-round pick in return. The Rams are reportedly willing to take on a portion of Kupp's salary this season to reach a deal.

Under his current contract, Kupp is expected to earn $9.1 million guaranteed this season, followed by $20 million in 2025 (including $5 million guaranteed) and $19.85 million (non-guaranteed). ) in 2026, per Spotrac.

Kupp, who has only appeared in two games so far this season, has 18 receptions for 147 yards and touchdowns in 2024.

He hasn't played since September 15 after suffering a severe ankle sprain in a loss to the Arizona Cardinals. Kupp was inactive for the Rams' win over the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday after initially being questioned about whether he could play.

Kupp has spent his entire career with the Rams after the team drafted him in the third round in 2017. Kupp led the team to the Super Bowl title at the end of the 2021 season, winning NFL Offensive Player of the Year and Super Bowl MVP awards along the way. But his last few seasons have been marred by injuries, with the 31-year-old receiver playing just nine games in 2022 and 12 games last season.

Puka Nakua, the Rams' other star receiver, has also been out since September with a PCL sprain. A number of receivers, including Tutu Atwell, Demarcus Robinson and more, have filled in for these two; they are likely the ones who will move up if Kupp is traded.
