The locations are open Monday to Saturday. Find your polling place

Election Day for the 2024 general election is less than three weeks away and election workers are preparing for early voting to take place in the state on Monday.

Election Coordinator Amanda Dickens with the Pulaski County Election Commission said they are preparing for Monday, but there are some changes this year.

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT EARLY VOTING IN ARKANSAS

“We have requested additional patrols around our polling locations from all precincts in the county this election,” Dickens said. “We've trained our poll workers to inform us about certain things and report things, so I think we'll do well.”

According to the Arkansas Department of State, 1,823,579 Arkansans are registered to vote, about 5,000 fewer than the 2020 election, which had 1,828,811 registered voters.

Dickens says early voting turnout has actually increased in Pulaski County.

“Early voting turnout was nearly 42%, with nearly 112,000 voters in 2020. In 2016 it was slightly lower,” Dickens said. “It was still a high number, but it was around 80,000, which is 32% of the electorate. We are seeing an increasing trend toward early voting and hope this trend continues.”

There are 13 polling locations in Pulaski County, but polls statewide will be open Monday through Saturday for the next two weeks.

Dickens said you should vote as early as possible and have a few reminders before you go to the polls.

“Come out, research early voting sites, think about your voting plan and make sure you are ready and have your photo ID with you when the time is best for you,” Dickens said.

“If you haven’t updated your address and you’ve recently moved, take care of it every now and then and then it will be a nice, smooth process when you get to the polls.”
