The legendary classic rock band announces their final concert. Here's what we know.

Jeff Lynne recently announced that the Electric Light Orchestra will play its final show next year.

The English rock band's farewell concert will take place on July 13 in London's Hyde Park – the venue where they returned to perform in 2014 after a decade-long hiatus.

“My return to touring began in Hyde Park in 2014. It seems like the perfect location for our final show,” Lynne, 76, said in a statement. “We couldn’t be more excited to share this special evening in London with our British fans. As the song says, 'We'll do it again!'”

Advance ticket sales for the final show begin on Friday at 4 a.m. Advance sales begin on Wednesday at 5 a.m

Electric Light Orchestra, also known as ELO, was founded in England in 1970 by multi-instrumentalists Lynne, Roy Wood and drummer Bev Bevan. After Wood's departure in 1972, the band began to gain traction with hits from the '70s and '80s like “Evil Woman,” “Turn to Stone” and “Strange Magic.”

The band broke up in 1983 after Lynne began arguing with manager Don Arden, but the breakup was finalized in 1986 due to contractual agreements.

The Electric Light Orchestra reunited briefly in 2000–01, but did not begin touring regularly again until 2014.

ELO made its U.S. performing debut in 2018 after being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

The band has released a total of 15 studio albums. His latest work, “From Out of Nowhere,” was released in 2019.
