The K-State defense was different compared to Colorado

K-State played the Colorado Buffaloes late Saturday night in a highly anticipated matchup.

The Wildcats had a close game and eventually got the win with a final score of 31-28.

A big part of the game was K-State's defense and their ability to stop Colorado's offense.

“You've got two minutes left and a phenomenal quarterback, the best quarterback I've ever seen and played against,” K-State coach Chris Klieman said. “They had every chance and I think our defensive line was the difference.” We get a three-point win.”

Colorado made the final pass with 1 minute and 20 seconds left. It was broken up by K-State cornerback Keenan Garber, resulting in a turnover on downs.

That was just one of the stops made by the K-State defense throughout the game.

“I think our defense played a phenomenal football game, and then two really good teams battled.”

The K-State defense wasn't just productive at the end of the game. They had 50 tackles and six sacks for a loss of 74 yards.

Junior VJ Payne had his first interception of the season with a 24-yard return.

K-State is 5-1 this season. They take on the West Virginia Mountaineers on Saturday in Morgantown.
