The high school party ends with a shootout on Fort Wayne's northeast side Saturday night. 1 dead, 10 others injured

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) – The Fort Wayne Police Department (FWPD) is investigating a shooting that left one person dead and 10 others injured Saturday evening in the city's northeast area.

According to police, they were called to the 4900 block of Manistee Drive at Stellhorn Road after several callers reported hearing gunshots and seeing people running in all directions.

When police arrived, they found one person dead and several other injured people with apparent gunshot wounds. According to initial information and witness statements, the shooting occurred during a high school party, according to police. Several partygoers were hit and one was pronounced dead at the scene.

FWPD says they do not know at this time how many suspects were involved in the shooting. The police currently know of 10 victims. Police believe that the condition of all other victims is not life-threatening. The names and ages of the victims were not released.

The incident remains under investigation by FWPD, the Allen County Prosecutor's Office and the coroner's office. Anyone with information is asked to call FWPD at 260-427-1201 and Crime Stoppers at 260-436-7867 or use the anonymous P3 Tips app.
