For the New York Giants to have any chance of success against the Pittsburgh Steelers, it will depend on the Giants' passing game to have a good night against a weakened Steelers secondary.

Cornerbacks Joey Porter, Jr. and Donte Jackson are paired with nickelback Beanie Bishop, Jr. Bishop has already victimized a New York quarterback this season, taking down the Jets' Aaron Rodgers twice last Sunday night.

When it comes to safety, the Steelers are among the best with Minkah FItzpatrick and DeShon Elliott.

Last Sunday night, Rodgers caught the Steelers secondary for 276 yards but had the two interceptions mentioned above. He also threw a touchdown. For Jones to have a night like Rodgers, he'll have to play better than he did last week against the Philadelphia Eagles when he was on the bench in the second half.

The problem the Giants have revolves around Jones. He clearly has the weapons. Nabers has done exactly what the Giants expected when they used the sixth pick in the NFL Draft on him last season. The problem was Jones' arm strength and his accuracy on deep balls.

Jones wasn't very accurate on the deep ball, which kept the Giants out of the end zone and out of the hearts of Giants fans.

Jones must avoid the Steelers secondary's ability to intercept passes at will. Jones faced weaker defenses and had trouble getting the ball to his receivers. He will definitely have his hands full with Bishop & Co.

Fitzpatrick had no interceptions this season, but he's no newbie when it comes to shutting down short-armed quarterbacks. Fitzpatrick had six interceptions in 2022, when he was selected to the Pro Bowl. He was also selected as a first-team NFL All-Pro.

Elliott, who joined the Steelers as a free agent from Miami this offseason, has one interception and three passes broken up. Like Fitzpatrick, Elliott plays with tremendous physicality. They may not have the glorious stats that other players have, but they do a great job of separating receivers from the football.

The task is not insurmountable, but the Steelers will present a challenge. Nabers has to set the tone early. If Nabers can create separation, that should help Slayton and Robinson as the corners may play a little further from the line. Jones also seems to have better games away from home than at home.

Elliott (back) and Jackson (shoulder) were on the injury report this week, but both are ready to start but could be a step slower than normal. It's up to Jones and his receivers to test them early and see how far they can push them.
