The Eagles star could miss the game against the Browns after suffering a hamstring injury

PHILADELPHIA – Eagles tight end Dallas Goedert went to the locker room with a hamstring injury in the first quarter against the Cleveland Browns.

Goedert played three plays on the opening drive before heading to the medical tent. He was replaced by tight end Jack Stoll on Philadelphia's second drive. Stoll and tight end Grant Calcaterra will both play in Goedert's place.

Over the past two weeks, Goedert has been the Eagles' top threat. He finished with 10 catches for 170 yards and a touchdown in the Saints' 15-12 win in Week 3. He then caught seven receptions for 62 yards in a Week 4 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The Eagles needed Goedert because wide receiver AJ Brown missed those two games and DeVonta Smith didn't play against the Buccaneers. Brown and Smith both play against the Browns, so the passing offense could work without Goedert.

Goedert missed eight games over the last two seasons due to injury. He missed three games last season with a broken forearm. In 2022, he was forced to miss five games due to a broken shoulder. During those eight weeks, the Eagles used Stoll and Calcaterra to replace him.

Stoll has 21 catches for 187 yards in his four-year career. After playing his first three years with the Eagles, Stoll signed a one-year contract with the New York Giants this offseason. He didn't make the Giants' 53-man roster, so the Eagles signed him back to the practice squad this season. He was promoted to Philadelphia's roster prior to Week 3.

Calcaterra has caught 13 passes for 176 yards over the last three years.
