The Colts will decide whether the roof of Lucas Oil Stadium will remain open or closed in Week 3 against the Bears

The roof at Lucas Oil Stadium will be closed for the Indianapolis Colts vs. Chicago Bears in Week 3 of the 2024 NFL season, according to team owner Jim Irsay.

Irsay noted that the zoning window at the north end will also be closed.

During the preseason, the roof was closed for the opening game against the Denver Broncos, but not because of the weather. Initially it was said that the roof was open. However, a mechanical problem prevented this.

According to Monica Whitfield Brase, public information and marketing manager for the Indiana Convention Center and Lucas Oil Stadium, the problem was due to one of the operating system's input/output components being faulty. That malfunction caused the system to send incorrect information about a problem with the roof, she said.
