The National Weather Service has issued a red flag warning for much of the Central Coast from 11 p.m. Thursday through 5 p.m. Saturday

Offshore winds are expected to be between 25 and 35 mph and gusts up to 45 mph. Isolated gusts of up to 65 mph are also expected across the highest terrain and mountain ridges.

Daytime relative humidity can be as high as 10%, creating critical fire weather conditions.

The National Weather Service recommends taking fire safety precautions and creating an emergency plan if a fire breaks out in your area. CalFire has information to help create an evacuation plan.

What is an alert?

• Critical fire weather conditions are likely or imminent

• Critical conditions include low humidity, high winds and dry fuels

• Stay in touch with local authorities for the most up-to-date information about any evacuation plans that may be necessary

Interior Bay Area and Central Coast, excluding those portions closest to the coast. San Francisco, the SF Peninsula Coast and the SF Bay Coast
