The Broncos' Tyler Badie was carted to the locker room after a hit in the Jets game

EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ – Broncos running back Tyler Badie was immobilized on the sideline in the first quarter of Sunday's road game against the New York Jets and carted to the locker room with an apparent back injury.

The injury occurred during the 2:15 mark when Badie took a hit in the back from New York linebacker Quincy Williams, resulting in a fumble and a recovery by the Jets.

Williams' helmet hit Badie directly in the lower side/back area. Badie was able to walk to the sideline, but soon found himself lying flat on his back as the coaching staff tended to him. Running back Javonte Williams came over to check on him, but after a while on the ground, medical staff placed Badie on a stretcher and immobilized him.

He was then loaded onto a cart and driven across the field toward the Denver locker room.

The Broncos considered his return questionable but downgraded him to out midway through the second quarter.

Badie, a former Missouri star, was promoted to the 53-man roster on Wednesday after rushing for 70 yards on nine carries in a 26-7 win over the Buccaneers in Week 3.
