The Powerball jackpot was won in Georgia! A single ticket sold in Georgia matched all six numbers drawn last night to win a jackpot worth $478.2 million. The jackpot has a cash value of $230.6 million.

The winning numbers in the Powerball drawing on Wednesday, October 23rd were white balls 2, 15, 27, 29, 39 and red Powerball 20. The Power Play® multiplier was 2X.

The lucky ticket holder in Georgia will have the choice of an annual prize of $478.2 million or a lump sum payment of $230.6 million. Both pricing options are before taxes. If the winner chooses the annuity option, they will receive an immediate payment followed by 29 annual payments that increase by 5 percent each year.

Participating lotteries remind players to check their tickets for one of the nine ways to win. Nationwide, there were 616,153 tickets that won prizes in last night's drawing, including two tickets that matched all five white balls to win $1 million in prizes. The $1 million winning tickets were sold in Pennsylvania and Texas.

Last night's drawing marked the eighth time the Powerball jackpot has been won this year. The Powerball jackpot was already won in California on August 19, 2024 by a ticket that won a jackpot of $44.3 million.
