Steve Martin shared a hilarious edit of his photo with Meryl Streep and Martin Short amid rumors that his co-stars are dating.

The 79-year-old actor posted a photo of himself and his couple on Instagram on October 19th Just murders in the building co-stars, as featured in a recent article by Shine. In the picture, taken in 2023, Martin stood directly behind Streep while Short stood on the other side of her with a big smile on his face.

However, his post states: Cheaper by the dozen Star retreated from the picture wearing a giant red X on his face.

In the comments, fans were quick to question what Martin's edit meant, specifically wondering whether he knew whether or not Short and Streep were together.

“Are you confirming this relationship?!” one fan commented, while another added: “Did he just push the relationship that hard?”

“I take this as confirmation,” wrote a third. I’ve never been so invested in rumors about celebrity couples.”

Martin's post comes after Short and Streep reignited relationship rumors when they were caught smiling from ear to ear on their way to see Giorgio Baldi in Los Angeles on October 16. In the photos from Page sixStreep is pictured leading the way in a patterned, long-sleeved satin blouse and flowy pants, while Short trails behind in a gray plaid suit over two undershirts.

Nancy Dolman, to whom Short was married for 30 years, died of ovarian cancer in 2010 at age 58. The couple shared three children: Katherine (40), Oliver (38) and Henry (35).
