Steph and Kerr playfully roast former Warriors GM Myers during the interview

Steph and Kerr playfully mock former Warriors GM Myers during an interview that originally appeared on NBC Sports Bay Area

The Warriors' preseason finale against the Lakers on Friday night went pretty smoothly. Golden State earned a commanding 132-74 victory over a Los Angeles team that sidelined its entire starting lineup.

With the Warriors already leading by 42 points early in the fourth quarter, there was time for some shenanigans.

Former Golden State general manager Bob Myers broadcast the game for ESPN and pulled aside coach Steve Kerr and guard Steph Curry – who missed tonight with a sprained finger – for a reunion interview of sorts between quarters.

What followed was, as most likely expected, a chaotic interaction between old colleagues.

“I feel like you didn’t train as well when I was here,” Myers said after introducing his interviewees.

“I feel like we have more talent now that Mike Dunleavy is the GM,” Kerr quickly refuted, teasing Myers following his departure from the Warriors following the 2022-23 NBA season.

“On a scale of 1 to 10, how much do you miss me?” Myers asked next, earning another sarcastic response.

“I'm suffering from real post-traumatic stress disorder right now from all the meetings we had upstairs, so I'll leave that to you all,” Curry replied before heading to Golden State's bench.

Finally, Myers asked Kerr a more serious question about the Warriors' ongoing stunning victory:

“A little dress rehearsal tonight without curry – is that what you want to see?”

“It’s obviously not a fair fight,” Kerr replied. “(The Lakers) don’t play any of their guys. But I like our concentration. I like the way our guys move the ball and take care of it. So it was a good evening.”

Kerr couldn't really complain on a night where the Warriors shot 58 percent from the field and won by 58 points.

So Myers asked Kerr another ironic question to end the amusing interview.

“Would you like something from me in the fourth quarter of the broadcast?” Myers asked.

Of course, Kerr had a quick one-liner ready.

“We were done with you two years ago,” he said with a laugh, dropping the microphone.

There is clearly no bad blood between Myers and the Warriors, as evidenced by their playful banter. Plus, it's a sign of good vibes in Golden State right now after going undefeated in the previous season.
