The 52-year-old actress and her 33-year-old son Manolo Gonzalez Vergara spoke with Us weekly at The infatuation's EEEEEATSCON New York, presented by Chase Sapphire, in early October. The reporter wanted to know if the… Modern family Star still thought New York City was the “best place yet,” referencing her performance in January The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

“Absolutely,” she replied. “Actually, I was talking about this yesterday because I’m single now, so… kind of single. Whatever.” The outlet mentioned that she laughed after saying “kind of single,” which caught our attention. Did she and Saliman break up or step back from their relationship?

Her son made no further references to his mother's dating life, only adding, “There are good people everywhere. You have to know where to look.”

She added: “But I feel like there's a more diverse group of people in New York than in LA because most people are in the entertainment industry. There are people from all over the world here – architects, writers, actors, business people.”

Over the summer, it seemed like things were going well in their relationship. “Her celebrity status doesn’t intimidate him at all,” a source said Us weekly about her love for Saliman. “Sofía is fascinated by his sense of humor and his intelligence. They were officially released on Instagram Story in April as he nursed her back to health following knee surgery. “If you ever have to have major knee surgery make sure you find a good looking doctor to sleep with you that night!!!!” she captioned the photo of the doctor holding her injured leg . “Luv u Dr @jdsaliman.” The relationship came about shortly after her divorce from Joe Manganiello after eight years of marriage.

It looks like Vergara is ready to date the men of New York!
