It is said that Franco Colapinto has a suggestion that would let him drive for RB in 2025.

The Williams driver has made a big impression since his temporary move but knows he cannot stay with his current team next season as they welcome Carlos Sainz.

Sainz, the outgoing Ferrari driver, is on pole position for the F1 Mexico City Grand Prix and, alongside Alex Albon, is a major coup for Williams.

But Colapinto's fine form since replacing Logan Sargeant has attracted admiration elsewhere too.

Red Bull has confirmed its interest, reports Sky Italia.

“The offer is there, in Milton Keynes they can offer him a seat,” they report.

“But the 'card' comes from Williams, who has had him in his youth program for two years and it is not certain whether he is ready to sell him.”

Red Bull could opt to add Colapinto to its sister team, RB, while Liam Lawson has been promoted to the main squad alongside Max Verstappen and got rid of Sergio Perez.

Colapinto told Sky Sports about his future: “I’m not really keen on it. My managers do an excellent job and I trust them.

“My job is to drive the car fast enough to turn the steering wheel.

“They are doing a great job. I don't concentrate on what's happening, I don't want to put energy into it.

“I know there are no more places, no more room for me.

“I'm trying to show that I deserve a place in Formula 1 and that I've come to stay.
