'Shame on yourself before you comment': England got a major online slam for mocking India after 46 all-outs

Indian cricket witnessed one of its darkest days as the Rohit Sharma-led side was dismissed for just 46-0, the team's lowest total at home. It is India's third highest innings total in its Test history. At one point India were reduced to 34/7. With just three wickets left, there was every chance India would not go past their lowest-ever total of 36 – which the team had achieved in Adelaide in 2020-21. However, India managed to cross the 40-run mark.

Afterwards, former England captain Michael Vaughan made fun of India.

“Look on the bright side, Indian fans… at least you’ve crossed 36,” Michael Vaughan on X.

He was slammed for the comment, with one social media user saying: “Shame on you a bit” as England are behind India in the World Test Championship points table.

Opener Devon Conway hit a powerful 61 to help New Zealand reach 82/1 in 20 overs on the second day of the first Test against India at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Thursday.

New Zealand also have a lead of 36 runs after earlier defeating India by just 46 runs in the second session. After their bowlers and fielders combined to blow India away, Conway was the main attacker in a 67-run opening stand with captain Tom Latham.

With bright sunshine slowly giving way, Conway was superb in cutting Mohammed Siraj and driving him to the boundary, followed by clever timing of his fours against Jasprit Bumrah. What really stood out about Conway's brisk batting was his victory over top-class off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin.

With his arsenal of sweeps, reverse sweeps and even smashed sixes, Conway's attacking blitzkrieg saw him make his 10th Test 50 in 54 balls, while Ashwin managed 31 runs in his six overs.

Although Kuldeep Yadav gave India the breakthrough by trapping Latham lbw with a googly, Conway hit two more boundaries with a drive and Will Young also hit a four, it meant New Zealand were left with hopes of taking a mammoth lead against India , went into the tea.
